If you have big hands this Giant SNES Controller may be just what you need. At its heart it is a standard SNES controller, the housing has been custom built from wood and looks fantastic. If you didn’t have anything to see the scale I am sure it would look just like the standard controller. Via: Make

Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters built a huge paintball gun that can shoot 1100 paintballs in an blink of an eye. When the balls crash on the canvas you can see a picture of the Mona Lisa. This was an attraction at an Nvidia event, I wonder how much the unit cost! I guess when you have a huge budget your mind can do wild. Via: Hack a Day

You can have some dangerous fun with some pipe supplies from your local home store. This Steel Shotgun Pneumatic Cannon is a good example of that. For more items like this have a look here. "The Steel Pneumatic shotgun is a very simple metal spud cannon, so see how to make it in this video. It is specially designed for C-cell batteries, but will work with any projectile (granted it makes a good seal in the barrel). It is also very easy to construct and disassemble considering it is put together completely

Are you a WOW fan and want to get more immersed into the game? Stop running around using a joystick hop on a RunCraft and Race Across Azeroth! "We bought extremely cheap manual treadmills off of Amazon and decided to sense their speed with a mouse rather than trying to hook into the treadmill’s output with some sort of analog interface. I wrote a quick script in GlovePIE to calculate the maximum speed my mouse could track. It’s a nice MX Revolution, but I could only get it to track a little over 4mph.

We have seen lots of automated sentry guns over the past year but this Autonomous Paintball Sentry Gun by Zero Op is the first I have seen for sale. For about $3000 you could buy the system and have enough left over to buy some paintballs. If you need to guard a large open area this may be just the ticket. "Inspired by countless movies and video games, we decided to put our engineering skills to the test, and attempt build the most advanced and consumer friendly sentry gun. After 10 months of hardcore s

We have featured lots of Rubik’s Cube solving robots on Hacked Gadgets. Seems that there are many creative ways to come up with the same result. Since the solution to the actual problem has been well documented the solution turns into a detection of the existing cube orientation and then a method of moving the cube one move at a time in the correct order. Spinning the cube is a trivial task for us but it isn’t a simple task to automate! Some student from Florida Institute of Technology have developed

Bill Beaty has created a neat way for magnets to be levitated. If you build it please be cautious since you could loose your hand if you aren’t careful. "While working on science museum exhibits in 1990 I came up with the above idea: it is known that a spinning metal disk will lift and fling a strong magnet. Therefore, metal rods with opposite spin will lift a magnet but WON’T fling it sideways. It works! I used "sched-80" heavy wall copper tubes about 1-3/8" diameter, 12" long, with 1/4" wall thickne

This DIY Hovercraft Project was done on a budget and the results are very good based on the amount of money that was put into it. "The workings of a hovercraft are fairly straightforward: one high-power motor with an airplane propeller forces air down through the hole in the center, which pushes the bottom of the hovercraft off the ground. This greatly reduces friction, allowing the hovercraft to scoot around without much trouble. It also makes it much more difficult to control, however: when the hovercra

I have seen a few of these waterfall displays before. But this water display has some very impressive patterns. I think if the room lights were dimmer the effect would be enhanced. These systems use many solenoids which are computer controlled to drip at the right time. Via: HackNMod

The guys over at Hak5 have created a fun Graffiti Wall, this wall takes entries from the web and projects them on a huge display on their wall. The text display is just the beginning, games are planned in the future! Give the wall a try! Have a look at the code that makes it tick. "Hey guys, this is the code I whipped together to make the Hak5 Graffiti wall. Toss in a projector and a webcam and it’s fun for the whole Internet. Now lets make it even better!"

deez nuts commented on Nokia 6230i Used as Bluetooth Mouse via camera - Featured on Hacked Gadgets
Nice try. The mouse has obviously been moved out of the cameras view. Why would anyone want to do this hack? It is so stupid, It probably would cost more to buy the bluetooth adaptor for the pc than to buy a mouse.

Useless.
